Kauai Beach Cottage 2, "The Hibiscus"
Is an exceptional Kauai oceanfront vacation rental as it sits
only a few feet back from the beach with amazing views of the pacific
ocean, Hanalei Bay, the Hanalei Pier and the Princeville Resort. The
living room and master bedroom open to the Lanai along the water
where the sun rises every morning. The early risers will be ready to
watch this spectacle while indulging their first cup of freshly brewed
Hawaiian Kona coffee; the lazy traveler can see the sun rise equally
well by just opening their eyes while still laying in bed…

Thank you for a most remarkable and beautiful week during which we celebrated our anniversary and refreshed and renewed ourselves until we return here next year. Your cabin and its setting are unmatched anywhere and something my wife and I look forward to ever year. You have again done and excellent job!" Dr.& Mrs. Potampa Woodinville, WA February 2008
Third stay at Hale Makai first time in Cottage 2. We love this place and keep on coming back. Mahalo!"
- Edith & Robert Eugene, OR January 2008
So good to know most people enjoy their stay on the south shore in Poipu,
Lihue or Kapaa, book their vacations at huge Hawaii resorts or find an oceanfront vacation
condo or timeshare to be happy. The beauty of Kauai only starts north of Anahola, as the
vegetation gets greener around Kilauea, Princeville and the Hanalei Valley. For me, the
vacation only starts, when we cross the bridge out of Hanalei, pass Lumahai beach, see and
smell the ocean and travel our beloved curvy road, cross the dilapidated looking bridges in
Wainiha and finally reach Haena where our cottage awaits us..." - Nancy & Wayne Austin, TX October 2007
Nope, TV and Movies can never capture the beauty of this place.
We are so glad we choose Kauai! We have snorkeled in many areas in the
Caribbean, but never seen as many varieties as well as concentration of Marine life.
It was truly like looking into an aquarium, it was right outside our door of Cottage # 2.
Far exceeded our expectations, in fact it was a combination of all of the things we loved
about other places we have stayed. I.e. The incredible view from inside and out,
our wonderful porch and being so close to the water. Thank you Hale Makai for a
truly perfect beach vacation. We will definitely try to come back again!"
- Joy & Rick Bowles Austin, TX June 2007
We don’t want to go!!! Thanks for a beautiful and relaxing time away." -The Gilchrist Family, Rancho Santa Fe, CA August 2006
“I had a wonderful stay at Hale Makai Cottages last September.
The Hale Makai Cottage # 2 is a spacious two bedroom directly by the water.
Every morning, the rising sun shined right into the master bedroom, setting the
stage for a glorious day on the island. The second bedroom had serene garden
views, including the ocean, with the constant sounds of the surf in the
background. I highly recommend this cottage. This beachfront cottage is closer
to the beach than anywhere else I have ever stayed on Kauai.”
-Catherine McDaniel, San Francisco CA April 2006
“The cottage is very private with a beautiful Lanai (deck)
towards the ocean and full view towards Hanalei Bay Pier and the Pu’u Poa
Beach. Every morning during our weeklong stay, we sat in the sun at the table
on the Lanai and breakfasted watching the sunrise over the ocean. The stairs
from the Lanai lead directly to a small sitting area right in front of the
beach, so we were able to sit in the shade. It was a very romantic place for my
honeymoon. It really is the perfect spot to experience all the beauty that
Kauai has to offer.”
